Michael is a winner of Research Distinction by the College of Natural Sciences for the 2019-20 academic year. This award is given to fewer than 10% of the graduating seniors excelling in research, entrepreneurship, service, and leadership in the area of diversity, equity, and inclusion. He is scheduled to receive a pin, representing his Research Distinction, and special recognition during a virtual ceremony on May 23, 2020.
